Fertilizer Schedule
This Fescue grass fertilizer plan is based on four applications per year, from Spring through Fall.
The mid Summer applications should only be done if your lawn is properly irrigated.
The dates listed below are based on average historic temperatures in your area. These should only be used as a guideline, and your specific weather forecasts should be used to determine actual dates.
Spring (March, April, May)
- May 26 — Apply 0.75lbs of nitrogen per 1000 square feet of grass.
Summer (June, July, August)
- July 25 — Apply 0.75lbs of nitrogen per 1000 square feet of grass.
Fall (September, October, November)
- September 23 — Apply 0.75lbs of nitrogen per 1000 square feet of grass.
- November 22 — Apply 0.75lbs of nitrogen per 1000 square feet of grass.
Winter (December, January, February)
Do not apply fertilizer to Fescue grass during the Winter months as it can promote growth that only gets damaged by the next cold snap, causing more harm than good.
