About Centipede grass
Centipede grass is a warm-season grass that grows in tropical and sub-tropical regions. It is a medium-textured grass that spreads by stolons. It has excellent heat and drought tolerance and good shade tolerance. It is best adapted to the coastal plain and lower piedmont areas of the southeast. It is a low maintenance grass that requires low fertilization, infrequent mowing and low water to look its best. It is susceptible to winter injury in the transition zone and is not recommended for areas north of the transition zone.
