Fertilizer Schedule
This St. Augustine grass fertilizer plan is based on four applications per year, from Spring through Fall.
The Summer applications should only be done if your lawn is properly irrigated.
The dates listed below are based on average historic temperatures in your area. These should only be used as a guideline, and your specific weather forecasts should be used to determine actual dates.
Spring (March, April, May)
- May 26 — Apply 0.75lbs of nitrogen per 1000 square feet of grass.
Summer (June, July, August)
- July 10 — Apply 0.75lbs of nitrogen per 1000 square feet of grass.
- August 24 — Apply 0.75lbs of nitrogen per 1000 square feet of grass.
Fall (September, October, November)
- October 8 — Apply 0.75lbs of nitrogen per 1000 square feet of grass.
Winter (December, January, February)
Do not apply fertilizer to St. Augustine grass during the Winter months as it can promote growth that only gets damaged by the next cold snap, causing more harm than good.
