Mowing Schedule

For Fescue grass in Statesville, NC, the below schedule of mowing heights is recommended.

For the best results, mow your lawn at the higher end of the recommended height range for Fescue more frequently, versus doing very low cuts. This will help to keep your lawn healthy and prevent weeds from growing. Going lower than the recommended height can cause your lawn to thin out and become more susceptible to weeds and disease, and can also cause your lawn to turn brown.

Spring (March, April, May)

For your first mowing of the season, set your mower to 3", which helps clean out dead grass and leaves, and stimulate growth.

Summer (June, July, August)
